Samantha June Mewis (born October 9, 1992) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Mewis is the editor-in-chief and podcast host of The Women's Game from Men in Blazers. Raised in Hanson, Massachusetts, Mewis played collegiately for the UCLA Bruins, where she won an NCAA championship in 2013. She was the fourth overall pick by the Western New York Flash in the 2015 NWSL College Draft and won her first NWSL Championship with the Flash in 2016. After the club moved to become the North Carolina Courage, she won three consecutive NWSL Shields and two consecutive Championships with the team in 2018 and 2019. Mewis then joined FA Women's Super League club Manchester City, winning the FA Cup in 2020. She played for the Kansas City Current before retiring in 2024 due to a long-term knee injury. After playing extensively at the youth level, Mewis debuted for the United States senior national team while in college in 2014. She made 86 appearances for the national team, winning the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup and earning a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
