Donny Rovers ( Derbyshire ) - 14-Apr-12 17:24 Mick Russell - What a rubbish ref today at the Doncaster Rovers vs Portsmouth match!
He awarded a penalty for an obvious dive by Dave Kitson and wrongly sent off Habib Beye (who never touched him), then he awarded a penalty for an accidental handball by James O Connor...
Portsmouth just won by cheating - they really have no honour and I do hope they do go bust. Mick really was a poor ref today!
| Shaz ( Doncaster ) - 14-Apr-12 20:38 After todays performance at Doncaster Rovers and all the decisions made by both Mike Russell and his officials, I wonder how they ever qualified to officiate at any match. I know we were soon to be relegated anyway but, Dave Kitsons actions and those of the officials were very unprofessional and I believe this is why we need video action replays to ensure future controversy does not happen.
| Gary ( Cumbria ) - 15-Apr-12 11:40 After today s performance at Doncaster v Portsmouth its hard to imagine that he s even seen the rule book let alone read it. The single most shocking/bias/inept (you choose) refereeing of a match I have ever seen!![real mad real mad](/forums/pics//realmad.gif)
| guest 86.135.106.1 - 16-Apr-12 19:27 he has referred at Doncaster s home games twice now and given the away side 4 penalties (2 in each game) interestingly his first match of the 2011-2012 season was not until January. Obviously the Conference beckons him hitchin a ride back to Hertfordshire !!

Mr Russels performance in this game was appalling.
The reasons for awarding two penalties are known only to himself.
The third goal scored by Kitson was shoved into the net with two hands, noticeable from everywhere in the ground other than the place that the referee was standing.
