Holland lineup was quite close to 3-4-1-2, with both wing-backs normally on one line with central midfielders de Jong and de Guzman (the latter often placed slightly higher), and Sneijder in the hole behind two strikers. Both wing-backs performed a lot of midfielders work with tackles in midfield and runs to the opponents area, as well as dropping back to help their defence.
