I watched the game and Real Sociedad played 4-2-3-1, with Aranburu as a central midfielder along with Rivas, and Zurutuza behind Llorente. I guess you get this line up from soccernet average position. It s a useful source, but as I mentioned it before in this site, it must be taken carefully. In a 4-2-3-1, one of the CM may push forward (in this case Aranburu) in order to reduce spaces, press a particular rival, help in recovery duties, etc. So his position appears very close to the strikers, making the formation to look like a 4-3-3/4-1-4-1. Other example is in a 4-3-1-2. In soccernet average position it may appear sometimes as a 4-3-2-1, because one of the strikers drops to the midfield, so his average position looks very close to the atacking midfielder. I recommend to watch a game and then look at the average position to see how the line up looks like. It is a very useful source when used properly. Regards !!
