Without a doubt, Liverpool has undergone change this year! No matter how similar the
squad may be on the pitch, there is one big difference beside it. Jürgen Klopp is no longer
the head coach of the Reds, and naturally, we're all keeping an eye out for the new
manager.
Arne Slot is already showing why he was the man chosen to take on the team after the
legendary coach, as we've seen Liverpool win all three of their starting Premier League
games without conceding once. Many respected journalists, analysts, and former players
have already commented on the form of the Reds, but we're particularly interested to hear
Emile Heskey's opinion.
Heskey is a former Liverpool player who shared his insights on the team as well as the
influence the new coach is having on the players. In the past, he's given us many interesting
comments, so we're always pleased to hear his point of view.
Heskey's Comments After the Win Against Manchester United
This past weekend, Liverpool secured another three points in the Premier League, and
they've done it against an old foe—Manchester United. Winning at Old Trafford is no easy
task, no matter how well United is playing at the moment. But the Reds made it look easy
with an 0:3 victory, allowing all
sports betting fans who believed in them to calmly observe.
After the game, Emile admitted that he was impressed with what he had seen on the field.
He compared this game to the one at the FA Cup last season. Back then, Liverpool
managed to create chances but didn't score in the first half, allowing United to be up after 45
minutes. This time, however, Liverpool didn't miss the important chances. Heskey even
called the Reds "ruthless"
in his interview. He then explained how United couldn't compete
with Liverpool's pressure and that the derby jitters got to them. Before they recovered,
Merseyside Red scored and finished off the opponent.
Heskey's Thoughts About Liverpool's Coaching
According to Heskey, Liverpool is playing more structured football now. Since, in his mind,
the team was very focused on attacking while under Klopp. They wanted to press teams and
smother them before getting the ball and creating immediate chances. Of course, Heskey
admits, that worked well.
However, Emile believes that this team led by Arne Slot could be more consistent and
display some defensive qualities we haven't seen in a while. At least, that's how the team
looks to him based on the first few games. The system seems to be working so far, but we
still have plenty of games to see.
How Heskey Feels About Liverpool's Big Signing
Federico Chiesa is likely the biggest Liverpool signing of the summer, but we still haven't
seen him in a red uniform. Naturally, we're all excited to see how the winger will fit in with the
team, but if you ask Heskey, we'll see him in the starting XI soon.
Just like everyone else, the former Liverpool player is excited to see Chiesa in the Premier
League and believes that the club has done proper research before adding him to the roster.
He believes that the manager will find Fede a suitable spot, and that the Italian will be a
great addition to the squad.
