With England securing their place in the Semi-Finals of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World
Cup taking place in France, following a 3-0 over Norway, it is an understatement to say
that the women football game has taken the UK by storm. With record breaking TV views
and with the climax of the finals upon us, we delve into the wider impact of these games
and the impact they are having on the UK’s love of the game.

Some might claim that from a physical standpoint the women’s games is not and will not be at
the same level as that of the men’s, however, one thing isn’t in doubt, the technical ability of
many of the world’s best women footballers is absolutely mesmerising, leading some
promo codes for uk to rate the England team highly with odds for the competition.
This doesn’t come to much of a surprise to some of the women’s game most avid fans. It seems
the spotlight that the BBC in the UK are lighting onto the game is allowing many others football
fans of the men’s game to witness for the first time that when a woman is tackled she gets back
on to her feet without Oscar winning performances to get an opponent booked. This and much
more is applauded by fans of the England women’s team, for their sheer determination and
humility in getting results.
Much of this is down to the meticulousness shown by their coach and ex-Evertonian and Red
Devil full back, Phil Neville. He can often be seen talking tactics and suggesting fearlessness in
pre match interviews, from his lionesses in most games, since his appointment only 17 months
ago. Furthermore, according to match hero, Lucy Bronze, the right back who plays her club
football for French club Lyon, Neville's psychological approach sets the tone for the team.
Speaking to the BBC in a post-match interview, Phil Neville said of Bronze: "you've seen tonight
that
Lucy Bronze is the best player in the world." Neville meant every word if that bold statement,
such is his belief in Bronze’s abilities, after she scored in the match against Norway.
The team that will face England in the semi-finals is the winner between reigning World
Champions USA and hosts France, in what was dubbed earlier this week as a game that should
have been the final. The USA will count on Alex Morgan’s abilities to score a goal or two, as she
is now level with Australia’s Sam Kerr and England’s Ellen White at 5 goals for the race for the
Golden Boot in this tournament.
When looking at the England team as a whole, two other players need a mention, Captain Steph
Houghton and fellow Manchester City player, Jill Scott, who is towering over most players with
both having deceive tackles and dominance in the air. Incidentally, it was Scott who opened the
score with a goal after 2 minutes, which set the tone for the rest of the game. Perhaps, the
Manchester City men’s team winning mentality is rubbing off onto some of their women
colleagues.
Speaking of England’s prospect of actually winning the
2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Neville
said:"We want to come home with the World Cup," he continues: "I keep thinking to myself, 'stop
saying it', but we can't hide
