Wings must be very speedy and the FW acts as a \"playmaker\" |

| 04-Jul-10 22:22 audie uk Leicester | | | yes i agree very bilardo maradona was the second striker the 10 behind just 1 hitman there was a midfield 5 witch included another great passer to take over playmaker dutys
something i expected to happen this 2010 world cup
then we seen the solid 4-4-1-1 witch to me was a modern version of this it would have worked very well if maradona stuck with it like he said instead of the 1 dm 2 wingers behind 3 forwards a weird 3 striker version of 4-3-1-2 with messi in the hole.....it was totaly stupid to continue like this vs germany a 4-4-1-1 or this 3-5-1-1 would have been more effective as it was in the freindly with germany weeks before the world cup....
id like abilardo like side or a return to a bielsa 3-3-1-3 argentina have the power to win everything it hasnt happened there must be changes | | | |

| 21-Oct-10 00:20 Rosendo Nevada | | | This is the best formation to use when the opponent is a player down. The width of 4-4-1 is covered by the two outside midfielders, two of the three defenders can easily pick up the forward, and the remaining players are well distributed on the field for central attack. In case of an opposing 4-3-2, 5-3-1, or 4-2-3, attacking wide will cause the opposing team some real damage. I have played three years of club under this formation as either side winger; this formation has never allowed the other teams to recover. Lots of discipline and first time passing required if the formation is used from the beginning of the match. | | | |
